The Importance of Web Development

It is not uncommon for entrepreneurs and business owners to search for the best price for their web development needs. But as the old saying goes 'you get what you pay.' And in the world of web development this is no exception. With that said, it may be worth your while to make sure that you're investment will not fall victim to the abyss of the world-wide-web where many web sites are never exposed to potential customers. This applies equally to any and all business types whether you are an Artist, Tutor, Book Seller or a Consultant. Your business potential on the Internet is only as good as your world-wide-web visibility.

Visibility is materialized when your web site can be found by potential clients and customers alike. There are usually three ways for your web site to land on the screen of a potential customer: 1) You pay for advertisement. You pay a company to advertise your web site address and a small description on their 'high traffic' web site and therefore exposing your existence to potential business. The fee is based on how many clicks your web site gets while listed on their web site. This service is offered by Google, Yahoo and Facebook to name a few; 2) Your web site has content that is viral. Viral meaning that your web site's content is so shocking, new or useful such that your URL is sent by 'word of mouth' from one colleague, friend, family member or associate to another via email or chat; 3) Have your web site developed in a proper format and structure thus providing all required information so that search engines like Google and Bing can find your web site when a potential customer types in a series of specific keyword in their search box that sums up your business type. Such keywords, for example if you sell paintings, are a phrase like 'contemporary floral paintings' which would lead a visit to your web site. This methodology is termed Search Engine Optimization or SEO for short and is the driving force to successful e-commerce and affiliated web sites.

We at Code 3 Design focus on the latter number three. A well structured web site allows for your business to grow organically as oppose to investing or using your profits to pay for advertisement such as in the case of the number one scenario. As for number 2, viral content is good for a short term but like many 'trendy highs' they are short lived and don't necessarily relate to selling a product or linking potential customers to your web site. By building a well structured web site using effective SEO you will be able to convert web site visitors to potential customers. Search Engine Optimization makes the link between a customer whom is looking for a product you sell on your web site whether it be a book or a subscription to your video files.

The description I've described above is just one aspect in web development which aids to your success. Please feel free to contact us if you any further questions. We look forward to hear your comments or suggestions.
